Fish and Yard Work

I finally felt motivated enough to put up another entry.

Lately, we've been hanging around the house getting some things done. I've spent some much needed time outside working on the yard. After having not done much more than mow the lawn (except for a couple of times), it has gotten to the point where it is disgusting me. I've realized that I don't really hate doing yard work. I actually kind of enjoy it. I'm outside, by myself, in the dirt. But I enjoy the bigger work much better than the tedious weed pulling and clipping.

Thursday will be mine and Laura's 4th anniversary. Last Saturday, we left Hannah with the Grandparents and for the first time, the two of us had a dinner out alone. We went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and had some fine Filet.

We got home from Bridgeport (reluctantly) a few weeks ago. No body wanted to leave but we had to come back to the real world. Laura, Hannah, and I got upgraded to a bigger cabin, with a deck, and on the creek this year. We had been on the waiting list for 2 years. We didn’t know we were going to get it until we got up there and the owner surprised us. It is the same as Nancy and Marshall’s and they are right next to each other. That made it fun for all the partying we do.

Hannah did well in Bridgeport, we fed her a lot so she wouldn’t get dehydrated. She went fishing and hiking and saw her first Bridgeport Fourth of July parade and fireworks. She played with her cousins a lot. Justin and Hannah enjoyed kicking each other in the face, sucking on each other, and poking each other in the eyes.

We had a couple of surprises while in Bridgeport. Ruth and Jerry were already in Bridgeport when we got there, they had been there for a week. They decorated Nancy and Marshall’s cabin with crazy signs only Jerry could create. Then on Tuesday Marshall’s dad, Sam, came walking up. He stayed for 2 hours and then went back to Reno where they were visiting.

Fishing was pretty slow this year. Laura family always says, “a bad day of fishing still beats working.” However, Dave caught a nice 4lb.+ fish. The good side of this is there was not a whole lot of fish to take home and waste.

We also did the standard stuff like shooting, some drinking, and just good ol' fashioned having fun and relaxing. When do we go back?

Until next time...
