No Jennifer Garner here.

On Sunday we took a trip downtown. We had tickets for the 2pm concert of the LA Phil at the Walt Disney Concert Hall (again). First, we decided to take a walk down to Little Tokyo. On our way there, we looked down the street and saw some fire trucks, police cars, and then a bunch of trailers and cameras. We walked down to check it out and right in front of the Court of Flags they were setting all this stuff up. We decided to stand around and just see what was going on when Laura noticed Victor Garber. There was also quite a few people in business attire. It was weird because it was Sunday but I still was confused if they were just waiting to get on the Red Line. Our very first celebrity sighting! We had a hunch that it was Alias.

We continued down to Little Tokyo where we walked around a bit and ate some lunch in a small restaurant. It was ok, but nothing special. We shared a Bento Box and a Spicy Tuna Roll.

We headed back towards the concert hall by way of the Court of Flags--I just had to know what was going on. This time they were rehearsing the scene and we even saw them do a take. What was surprising was the lack of crowd control--we were just hanging out there and weren't bothered a bit. I even had my camera out. Before we left, I just had to ask one of the guys standing around what was going on. He confirmed that it was for Alias and they were all a part of the shoot. It was kind of cool actually recognizing a celebrity and then also seeing a shoot for a show we watch. We will have to be paying attention to see if I made it in the clip!

We made it back to the concert hall. It was a good concert but having been there in January it just wasn't the same. Our highlight was definitely being tourists for a day.

On a side note, we came across a neat looking building on our way back. It is another example of government at it's finest. Caltrans' new home. Our roads are falling apart. Freeways are like parking lots. The Governator wants an enormous bond measure. But Caltrans had to have this. Nice.

Lastly, we'll leave you with what happens when we leave a closet door open for a couple minutes.

California, Reagan, & Mickey

It has been awhile since our last post, so I figured I better write something.

We went to California Adventure a couple weeks ago. Disneyland had a special "2fer" discount to SoCal residents. For the price of one ticket, you can go one day to California Adventure and one day to Disneyland, within 30 days of each other before April 27th. If you've never been to California Adventure, it is worth it to check it out. Not as detailed, and especially not as historic as Disneyland, there are some cool things. Our favorite was the Soarin' Over California--Star Tours on "The Cream" and "The Clear". You hop in this "glider", there are about 10 people per glider, and you are lifted up to let your feet dangle. There are about 10 gliders in front of what is like an IMAX screen. And you are taken on a tour of California. You feel like you can stick your feet down and touch the ocean. It even comes with the smell of pine needles. Very cool. Other attractions we recommend is the Tower of Terror (based on the Twilight Zone), California Screamin' (has a Maglev launch), the Maliboomer (an oversized version of the test-your-strength carnival game). We were hoping that going on a Sunday would be okay, expecting it to not be as busy as Disneyland on a weekend--WRONG! But we got there early and was able to do everything we wanted.

We also went to see the Air Force One Pavilion at the Ronald Reagan Library (Thanks Grandma Star and Hank for the free passes!). This unique exhibit opened a few months ago as the permanent home to the plane that served from 1973-2001. Also there is the Marine One helicopter, a F-14 Tomcat, and a Presidential Limo.

Last Wednesday we used the other half of our "2fer" and spent the day at Disneyland. All I have to say is, don't people have to work! For cryin' out loud, you wouldn't believe how busy it was there for a Wednesday in March. Disneyland worked it's magic as always. Space Mountain is our favorite, and we rode it twice. We also rode Indiana Jones twice thanks to a ride breakdown that wasn't completely fixed. We hadn't been there in like 6 years and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

As we've been having all of this fun, we're still trying to sell our condo. In one word, the last few weeks have been "slow".
