12 weeks

Yeah, yeah, yeah...it has been awhile since I posted anything. Give me a break. I can't work on the blog at work anymore. Someone decided that blogger.com was not business related and they blocked it. The bastards also blocked Netflix. Granted, it is not business related. I know that. I also know that I should be working on the blog at home, but it just doesn't sit right with me. Isn't the whole point of being a salaried employee for these kinds of benefits? And to top it all off....they blocked any site related to mlb.com....meaning I cannot read about the Giants at lunch. But they did not block nfl.com. Now THAT pissed me off.

We've also been busy. Like we said before, we sold our condo and found a new house in Moorpark. Selling a house is 10x more stressful than buying one. Or at least in our case. There has just been a whole range of issues that have come up, from minor things to ones that cost us quite a few dollars. But we both feel that this is the right time to make this change, and we are definitely not going to look back. On a positive note, there hasnt been many issues with the new house.

A couple weekends ago, was our "Wedding Weekend". We had my cousin Kacie's wedding on Saturday in Santa Inez, and we had one of Laura's friend, Sandy, wedding on Sunday in Moorpark. My face is still trying to recover from all that smiling.

Last weekend, my parents came down to visit. We went to see the Giants vs. Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Laura's parents came over for dinner on Saturday night. And Sunday morning I played golf with my Dad.

This weekend we started packing. I think we have made good progress. We are using the garage as a staging area which is working out nice. We started with some of the stuff in the office/spare bedroom. Going thru the plastic tray towers (we call them Rollie-bins). We also took care of a lot of the fragile knick-knacks and our entertainment center (leaving the surround sound connected though!). This morning we concentrated more on the office. We've started with all the stuff that we have stashed away and havent touched in 2 years. It's amazing how much stuff you collect. We will be doing more next weekend as well. Our estimated moving weekend is September 15th. Feel free to come help.

Laura had a couple Doctor's appointments over the last week. On August 11th, she went to get some Pre-screening tests done. I was not able to join her. The doctor did another ultrasound and then was able to put them in a computer and come up with some 3-D renderings. On Wednesday, we went to see her normal doctor for a checkup. Everything is going well. The baby has 2 arms, 2 legs, and a strong heartbeat. It was neat seeing that. On September 22nd, we'll find out if it is a boy or a girl.

Finally!

We have great news....We have finally accepted an offer on our Condo! And we have found a PALACE in Moorpark! We are so excited to be at this stage. We are confident (trying to be, atleast) that everything will go like clockwork for the next 6 weeks.

Here is some information from the listing:

Thousands spent in upgrades! Remodeled kitchen w/cherrywd cabinets, stainless steel appliances, hardwd floors, smooth ceilings, recessed lighting, dual pane windows, pedestal sink, tankless water heater, travertine floors, crown molding, designer window treatments, wainscoting, newer window treatments, designer paints, indoor laundry room, covered patio, cut glass front entry door, gated patio in front yard, mirrored closet doors, tiled roof, two car attached garage w/roll up garage door&so much more!

And, here is some pictures.

Granted, it is a small yard, but there are many other positives (some people would say a small yard is a positive as well). And the best thing (can you say babysitter?) is that this is a 5 minute walk from Laura's parents!

Also, a couple weeks ago, we took a weekend trip to San Diego for our 3rd anniversary. We went to Seaworld on Friday, toured the USS Midway, Point Loma/Cabrillo Monument, and went to dinner at Seaport Village Saturday, and toured the coast Sunday. I can't post all the pictures cause Flickr limits my bandwidth and the pictures are too large and I dont want to resize them all. But you get the idea, by going here. The USS Midway was awesome. You get to tour the ship inside and out. Lots of history. And it isnt "fake". Everything there is real, and there are lots of Midway alumni walking around.

We'll keep you updated...
