Babies

Yes, that is right. We are having a baby! Oh god, we are having a baby. I can't believe we're having a baby. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

On a serious note, we are excited to annouce that in 8 months, there will be a screaming lil' Buller. Laura has started reading the "Pregancy Bible" (see above). And I've started reading my own book, with the one above coming soon. We will try and provide as many updates here as we go along. For starters, Laura is milking this for all it's worth. I have now cooked dinner last night and breakfast this morning. She gets to sleep all the time, and eat whatever she wants. And she eats every hour. This is going to be a long 9 months. I keep being told to get my sleep now. But that is impossible. I should have been doing that before. Good times, good times.

I thought I would also provide some pictures of what happens when you give kitties a new tree house sprinkled with catnip.

The San Francisco Treat

Just returned from a pretty interesting week and weekend.

I spent the week up in San Francisco for the 2006 International Microwave Symposium. Right before the registration deadline, I was approached at work to attend. My first thought was that it would be neat to stay with my cousin Todd and his wife Jodi at their recently purchased home in San Mateo. I hopped in the fat company-owned Ford Taurus on Tuesday morning and cruised up the 101. I parked at the Millbrae (just north of San Mateo) BART station and rode in for the afternoon. That night, since Todd and Jodi were at a concert in Santa Cruz, I stayed in the city. I went to dinner at Palamino's with the Marketing guys from work and a couple Program Managers where I had New York Steak and some wine. We then all jumped on the F-line street car and rode up to a private party reception at the Aquarium of the Bay put on by our local area reps. That was neat, always seen it when at Pier 39, never been in it, and having the place to ourselves was awesome with night time views of the Bay Bridge. After the event, everyone decided that more drinks were in order. So 5 of us hopped into 1 cab (yes, 5 of us) and the cabbie dropped us off at Tosca's in North Beach (Todd and Jodi's old neighborhood). We all had a drink and the women decided to go to the hotel and the guys decided more trouble was in order. It ended up that I was dumb enough to think BART was 24 hour service. HA! I ended up spending the night at the hotel, hopped on the BART at 6am back to San Mateo where I had to "recover" for the rest of the morning. Let me just say that it was tough making it back to SF for that 1pm meeting at the conference!

The rest of the week was a blast. Wednesday night Todd and Jodi cooked up some mean Tri-Tip on their new BBQ and we just hung out at their place. Thursday was my birthday. I met Todd at 4pm at his office at 1 Market Street. He showed me around his office floor. We then headed to the Giants Dugout store and I got a new Giants hat (Thanks Todd!). We had a lot of time to kill so we had a beer (or 2) at a local bar. Afterwards, he wanted to take me to Top Of The Mark. So we literally ran for the trolley (just like in the movies except it was 1 short guy followed by 1 fat guy). After the drinks there, we rode in a cab to meet Kristi for sushi.

Friday I was back in the Ford and drove to Fresno. Todd's sister, Kacie was having a wedding shower. I played golf Saturday with Todd, John (Uncle), Hank (Grandpa-like), and Adam (fiancee). If you have never played golf in 102 degree heat--thank God. Today we were back in the Taurus and drove home.

After being gone for almost a week, I'm ready for a vacation! Good thing Bridgeport is in 2 weeks.
